This vulture flew effortlessly over the banks of the river at Fair Oaks taking advantage of the winds and thermal currents.
I suppose that among other corpses, they could find salmon because thousands were going up to the river's source where three years earlier they had been born and where now they wanted to spawn.

One of the things that I love the most about America is its nature. Human pressure against nature has been exercised for less time than in old Europe and open spaces are very large in America. So nature is everywhere and is present in every corner.

I was able to see the Californian Sea Lion and photograph it in the wild, in freedom on the Pacific coast of California, floating peacefully sunbathing and swimming in the water with its unique style.

They are the smallest birds in the world, but they are nonetheless birds although with some insect features: their small size, the way they feed on the nectar of flowers, the way they move... In the nineteenth century they were hunted down to garnish ladies' hats and several species were extinguished.

Bisonte Americano (Bison bison)
The first Europeans that arrived to the vast prairies and forests of North America were not experts in zoology and perhaps also had never seen a European bison, of which there were only small populations in Eastern Europe. They were mistakenly called the American Bison "Buffalo".

The White Pelican is native to Europe. It lives in eastern continent and western Asia and in the winter immigrates to Africa, India and Indochina. It is in danger due to the reduction of its natural habitat, negative effects of pesticides and hunting.
The American version is the Brown Pelican. I had the opportunity to photograph it in the north and the south of California. In the north we visited family in Eureka. It was a fantastic trip for many reasons. The possibility of photographing the California Brown Pelican was just the least of them.
