Jamás daré a nadie medicamento mortal, por mucho que me soliciten, ni tomaré iniciativa alguna de este tipo; tampoco administraré abortivo a mujer alguna. Por el contrario, viviré y practicaré mi arte de forma santa y pura.

I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody if asked for it, nor will I make a suggestion to this effect. Similarly I will not give to a woman an abortive remedy. In purity and holiness I will guard my life and my art.

En cualquier casa que entre, lo haré para bien de los enfermos, apartándome de toda injusticia voluntaria y de toda corrupción, principalmente de toda relación vergonzosa con mujeres y muchachos, ya sean libres o esclavos.

Whatever houses I may visit, I will come for the benefit of the sick, remaining free of all intentional injustice, of all mischief and in particular of sexual relations with both female and male persons, be they free or slaves.

Todo lo que vea y oiga en el ejercicio de mi profesión, y todo lo que supiere acerca de la vida de alguien, si es cosa que no debe ser divulgada, lo callaré y lo guardaré con secreto inviolable.

A lo largo de los siglos, este juramento se ha "modernizado". En el original, el médico juraba por los dioses venerar a sus maestros, utilizar la dieta para curar, respetar la intimidad de los pacientes y protegerles de daños. No administrar jamás un medicamento letal, ni causar un aborto y no tener relaciones sexuales con los pacientes.
Throughout the centuries this oath has become more "modern". In the original version, one swore by the gods to honor his teachers, use foods to cure, respect the privacy of his patients and protect them from harm. He would never administer lethal medication, cause an abortion or have sexual relations with a patient.

Hoy en día se ha suprimido lo fundamental del juramento original.
Today the important part of the original oath has been suppressed.

Hoy en día hay los médicos ya no curan con dieta sino con productos químicos que sirven tanto o más al negocio de las empresas farmacéuticas que a la salud de los pacientes a quienes convierten en clientes crónicos.
Today doctors don´t cure with foods, but rather with chemical products that benefit more the business of the pharmaceutical companies over the health of their patients who become chronic clients.

Hoy en día hay médicos que son capaces de practicar abortos sin que les tiemble el pulso.
Today doctors are capable of practicing abortion without a second thought.
