We all have a thorn in our side from some frustrated vocation, that subject or interest, that something we liked so much, but that we were incapable of making a career of. I have a number of these vocations. One is painting. As a child my mother said I was really good at drawing. My grandmother told me so as well. Although they weren't very objective, their opinions encouraged me until my own ability to judge developed and then I saw that no, it wasn't for me.

Lincoln.
The probability that we may fail in the struggle ought not to deter us from the support of a cause we believe to be just.
Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.
Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves.
