Fray Junípero Serra

Fray Junípero Serra nació en Petra, Mallorca, España, hoy hace trescientos años; el 24 de noviembre de 1713 y murió en Monterrey, California, el 28 de agosto de 1784.
Fray Junipero Serra was born in Petra, Mallorca, Spain, November 24, 1713 and died in Monterey, California, August 28, 1784. Today marks three hundred years since his birth.

Esta estatua del Padre Junípero Serra fue entregada al National Statuary Hall Collection por California en 1931. Es reconocido como uno de los más importantes misioneros españoles en el Nuevo Mundo, el evangelizador de California y uno de los padres de la patria americana.
This statue of Father Junipero Serra was given to the National Statuary Hall Collection by California in 1931. He is recognized as one of the most important Spanish missionaries in the New World, the evangelist of California and one of the fathers of the American Homeland.

Fair Oaks & Astorga

Hemos disfrutado de la hospitalidad de nuestros amigos en Fair Oaks, gracias. Esta pequeña ciudad presenta ciertos paralelismos con la de Astorga en España. Ambas están en la ruta del oro. Situadas entre las colinas y el valle, contemplan en el horizonte las cumbres nevadas.
We enjoyed the hospitality of our friends in Fair Oaks, thanks. This small town has some parallels with that of Astorga in Spain. Both are along the gold route. Located between the hills and the valley, they look out onto snowy peaks.
