In 1995 I took an intensive course to teach yoga that lasted a month. Vegeterian diet, physical exercise, meditation, etc. At the same time I also did the famous Tibetan garlic cure. After that, I have eaten meat, not a lot, but some. Anyway, from that time I was completely healthy, never had the flu, nor even a simple cold that didn't disappear by itself in less than three days. In fact, I didn't take a single pill or visit the doctor for more the ten years.

Otra experiencia: en el verano del 2006 me di cuenta de que me sobraban casi diez quilos, así que leí unos cuantos libros de dietética y de metabolismo y decidí hacer unos cambios en mi alimentación: durante un año aproximadamente reduje mucho los lácteos, los dulces y los alimentos muy procesados, también quité la fruta del lugar del postre, desde entonces como la fruta en otro momento, en el desayuno o entre horas. El resultado fue que perdí los quilos que me sobraban, estilicé mi figura y adquirí una sensación subjetiva de mayor bienestar.
Another experience was in the summer of 2006 when I noticed that I was almost 22 pounds overweight. So, I read a number of books on nutrition and metabolism and I decided to make a some changes in my diet: during approximately I reduced my dairy intake, sweets and processed foods. I also stopped eating fruit for dessert. From then on I eat fruit an other times, for breakfast and between meals. The results was that I lost the extra pounds, improved my figure and adquired a personal sense of better well-being.
Entre los libros que leí estaba el de Atkins. Creo que nadie está completamente en lo cierto ni totalmente equivocado, también de él aprendí cosas interesantes, como por ejemplo: el concepto de Índice Glucémico o por qué las grasas en general tienen una mala fama inmerecida.
Amongst the books that I read was Atkins book. I believe that no one is completely correct or completely wrong, and I learned interesting things from him like the concept of the Glycemic Index and why fats in general have an undeserved bad reputation.

Now I have to make another decision because I am again overweight some pounds, 6 or 9, (happiness fattens you up, they say) and high blood pressure is just outside my door, right on the verge.
The adjustments that I´m now introducing are at the hand of my wife who loves things natural, organic, ecological, vegetables...
