Qu'algamemos lo que celebramos

Nuestro más profundo deseo para estas fiestas es que logremos
lo que celebramos y el próximo año sea nuevo y renueve nuestra vida
con abundancia de amor y alegría.
Our deepest wish for these holidays is that we attain
what we are celebrating and the next year be new and renew our life
with an abundance of love and joy.

¿Onde ta'l rei de los xudíos, qu'acaba de nacer? Pues acolumbramos la sua estrella nel Oriente y vinimos a adoralu.

¿Dónde está el rey de los judíos, que nació? Porque hemos visto su estrella en el Oriente y venimos a adorarle.

El Aventurero de Dios. San Francisco Javier. Pedro Miguel Lamet.

Hoy, día 3 de diciembre, hace 460 años que Francisco Javier murió en la isla de Sanchón o Sancián, a las puertas de China. Pío XI lo declaró en 1927 patrono de las misiones.

Today, December 3, 460 years ago that Francisco Javier died  on Sancian or Sanchón Island,  the doorstep of China. Pío XI in 1927 declared him Patron of the Missions.

Tras haber leído esta magnífica novela histórica que recrea la época y la vida del hombre al que admiro, quedé tan impactado que escribí al autor para darle las gracias. Él, Pedro Miguel Lamet, me contestó.

After reading this magnificent historical novel, that recreates the life and times of a man I admire, I was so impressed that I wrote to the author to say thank you. He, Pedro Miguel Lamet, answered me.

Hoy quiero compartir ambos correos. Sea mi homenaje a San Francisco Javier y a todos los misioneros. Quizá alguien se sienta animado a leer acerca del hoy venerado Aventurero de Dios.
